Dirty Little Secret // 053
On November 18th, 2012, 13-year-old Dylan Redwine traveled to Durango, Colorado for a court ordered visit with his father. After getting off of the plane, Dylan’s father Mark told the young teenager he had to run errands early the next morning. This prompted Dylan to make plans to meet with a friend early in the morning before his dad left the house. When Mark awoke the next morning, Dylan was still asleep on the couch, but when he returned home, his son was nowhere to be found. All calls and texts to his son went unanswered, and his friends stated they hadn’t seen or heard from Dylan. As the hours passed, Mark became increasingly concerned as he lived in a rugged, mountainous area. The days quickly turned into weeks and eventually months, until Dylan’s remains were recovered on a rural mountain road just 8 miles from his father’s home. After his death was ruled a homicide, investigators were made aware that the young teenager had discovered and confronted his father about some compromising information his brother had found on the computer the year prior. But was this allegedly devout father really willing to kill his son over his dirty little secret?
